    You wake up from a sound sleep because of a disturbing sound. The sound paints an image of a boat that’s docking to the port but when you turned around you found out that it was your father, mother, grandfather or aunt who happens to have that sound. You think that it is a mere exaggeration. No, it isn’t! It’s a stated fact that a number of people snore. You can laugh about it but you must take it seriously. Snoring may be a sign of a serious medical issue.

    However, you don’t have to worry since as early as now, you can  prevent snoring at the convenience of your home.

    Always Stay In Fit

    If you think that you cannot wear a couple of your pants at the same time you are snoring, well, it’s now time to lift some weights, jog or walk more often, and control your food. Being overweight will trigger more your snoring. Allow for some cardiovascular exercises such a running up and down the stairs, brisk walking if you have time and getting on a healthier diet with fruits and vegetables will surely decrease the sound of your snoring. Cut the slack, and sweat out.

    No More Alcoholic Drinks

    Hide the shot glass away. Taking alcoholic drinks and beverages before bedtime will surely makes your snoring worse. This holds true if you take sleeping pills, anti-histamines, tranquilizers, coffee and rich foods. The aforementioned drinks and foods make the muscles more relaxed in the air passageways.

    If it is almost possible for you to stop these completely, then you can limit your consumption or take them long before bedtime.

    Quit Smoking

    Can’t puff enough? Now is the perfect time to stop smoking. Studies reveal that smoking will worsen the problem since it blocks the air passages. Even if you’re only a secondary smoker and not primary then you also have to be careful. You might experience the same.

    Get the Right Sleep Position

    You might be asking why sleep position is a concern. The thing is, lateral sleeping will help you a lot instead of sleeping on your back because through this your airways are obstructed by your tongue. A good practice is to elevate the head 30 degrees higher and to have some good soft pillows to support the head.
